• First Power Plant in the Port
• Inaugurated about 1908, by a foreign company by the Railroad of the South to supply of electrical force to the elevators of grains, winches, sawmills, etc.
  Constructed in sober English style, the building presents exceptional characteristics, not only for its dimensions, but for its aesthetic and functional characteristics. It has 3000 m ² of useful surface, it raises fourteen meters on the area, its walls have a meter of thickness, the foundations were made in concrete to a depth of 8 m. and its chimney was rising up to 50 m.
• Power Plant General San Martín
• It was constructed on areas gained to the sea; its foundations had to be raised on concrete piles (700 in total) that were sinking in the mud up to the stony soil.
  The factory was inaugurated the October 1st, 1932. The capitals for this work were entirely Italian. The foreign architecture of this building is inspired in the Tudor style.
  Its roof of tiles is very characteristic, under which it is outlined a sculpture leaned on an important level with the evocation to San Jorge. This qualified work San Jorge and the Dragoon was realized by the artist Troiano Troiani in powder of carrara marble, who after being in several European cities, he came to the country in 1914. During 2001 the entity Residual ESEBA transfers the building to Bahia Blanca City, which has the purpose of creating a cultural center and a natural public area.
• Thermoelectric Luis Piedra Buena
• The Thermoelectric Luis Piedrabuena chimney’s line, with its 152 m. height, has modified the Bahiense landscape. It was built with world’s most advanced technology directed by the Direction of Energy of the Province of Buenos Aires and the company Ansaldo Argentina, with headquarters in Italy. The new head office took the name Commander Luis Piedrabuena.
  The dark line of boilers duplicate in height to the enormous room of machines of 30 m. of height and almost one block and a half of length (150 m).
  For the emplacement of this plant it was thought the advantageous conditions that the city offers to receive by sea routes fuels and the availability of natural gas, being this zone a convergence of gas pipelines. Also it has a suitable net railway and roads, as well as the provision of current water and sea water, this last one acting like cooler.
• Industrial Park of Bahía Blanca
• It is one of the elements for the development of Bahia Blanca and its region. It is located 5 Km from Bahia Blanca and belongs to the City Hall.
  Inside the basic infrastructure it is possible to stand out: rain drainage, sanitary drainage, pavement and internal streets signposting, public lighting, green spaces, gas net, electrical net, drinkable water, telephonic net and access to Internet. Regarding services of logistic and administrative support there are: 24 hours security, administration offices, business office, dining room, maintenance of common spaces and vigilance cameras.
  The total surface of the Park is 136 hectares which were divided in four stages tending to reach its development in a gradual way. Nowadays there are about 30 companies settled on this Industrial Park.

The Historical Town is based in the main square and its surrounded blocks: the Rivadavia Square with its important vegetation, center of a sequence of public buildings, which date of construction can be place between the end of last century and the 30’s of this century. The urban is given by buildings up to four levels, which tallest one is the Justice Palace with 5 levels, adding 33 meters of total height.

• Monument to Rivadavia
• Rivadavia, chosen president of the United Provinces of Plate River, was intimately related to the first establishment attempts for the city. This monument was realized in his honor in the main square in 1882.
• Monument of the Israelite community
• It is located in the Rivadavia Square on the front to Hipólito Yrigoyen Street, former Buenos Aires Street.
  "The work shapes a tribute from Hebrews to the baron Mauricio de Hirsch (1831 - 1896), the man who donated great part of his fortune in order to encourage and to lean Israelites' arrival to our country in search of better conditions of life. This way the first Jews colonies arose around the end of the XIX century".
• English men’s Fountain
• In 1928, at the centenary anniversary of the foundation of Bahia Blanca, all the foreign collectivities contributed to the celebration, specially the English one, which was much related to our progress.
  In the name of the narrow relationship that was joining both countries, formalized in the agreement of friendship, trade and navigation signed February 2, 1825; they donated a decorative fountain that was representing the four elements of that progress: the navigation and the railroad contributed by the immigrants, and the agriculture and livestock from national source. It is made in carrara marble, its base is triangular with an obelisk, also made in marble.
• Caronti Monument
• It is located opposite to the mast in front of the City Hall Tower. It is a commemorative monument, and the sculpture is J. Vian. Caronti, who was an exemplary military man recognized by his work as School Council President and Mayor of the city and had the supreme gesture of bequeathing his huge fortune on equal parts to the Municipal Hospital and the Public Library.
• City Hall
• The building is located opposite to Rivadavia Square, where the former Agricultural Military Legion was placed and later the first hospital that was taking cholera patients. It is worth to mention the tower of the building (42 meters of height), which one together with the access stairs form an important axle; its construction withdrawn from the municipal line, and the curved access ramps, typical example of the French port-cochere … " The building follows a predominant Bourbon line among the municipal buildings of those days … "
• Former Bank of the Province of Buenos Aires
• It is located next to the City Hall, in front of the Bernardino Rivadavia Square. The architect Luis Rocca elaborated the project for the headquarters of the bank in Bahia Blanca, by request of the board of directors of the entity.
• Cathedral Our Lady of the Mercy
• The first Church of the city, Our Lady of Mercedes, Redeemer of the Captive Christians, was constructed in 1836, being built by order of Juan Manuel de Rosas, under the direction of `Teniente Antonio Manuel de Molina. During the following year a strong wind knocked it down, being constructed again on initiative of the neighbors. After more than three decades of existence, it was considered necessary to have a temple of bigger dimensions, reason why Dr. Sixto Laspiur decides to build a bigger one, according to the needs of those times. It was inaugurated on July 9, 1900. The project belonged to the architect Luis Peprani.
• Newspaper “La Nueva Provincia” (The New Province)
• It was founded by the journalist Enrique Julio, native from Catamarca's province, who had came to the city to be director of the newspaper The Duty. Soon he decided to begin his own journalistic company, and with the idea of turning Bahia Blanca into the capital of a new province, he decides to name the newspaper The New Province to spread the project. Towards 1898 the first copy was edited, in the building located on the corner of Alsina and Soler. It moved later to Sarmiento 34 to finally move to its current location.
• Former Banco Alemán (German Bank)
• It is located in the intersection of the streets Sarmiento and Estomba, opposite to Rivadavia Square. The draft was designed by the German architect Carlos Nordman, beginning the construction of the building during the first years of the 20’s of this century. The building firm was Bartolucci.
• National Bank of Argentina
• It is located in the intersection of the Estomba and Moreno Streets, opposite to the main square. The engineer - architect Juan Ochoa designed the project and the work was led to end by the builder Baldasarre Zani. The construction of the building demanded four years, it was culminated in 1921. It was the first construction in the city with a metallic structure, which accomplishment was at the expense of Pedro Vasena and Sons.
• Justice Palace
• It is located at Estomba 32. In 1927 the builder Querel initiates the building construction. It has a front of 29 meters. The project was made by the architect Qüinke.
  It was, by then, the highest building in front to Rivadavia Square, with its 33 meters of height, which includes the ground floor and all five floors.
• Customs
• The building is located on the corner of Estomba Street and Colon Ave.; the same one was constructed in 1903 to be a headquarters of the Bank of the Argentine Nation. In 1914, there is barter and Customs obtains this building in exchange to the location on the corner of Estomba and Moreno Streets.
  The architect who designed the work was Alejandro Christophersen and the builders Boggini and Gerardi. It was concluded in about eight months.
• Chamber of Commerce (former Spanish Bank)
• It is located in the intersection of Chiclana Street and Colon Ave. The building dates back of the year 1904; the architect who projected it was Agote. The Spanish Bank worked uninterrupted from 1904 to 1988. In the ' 90’s it became the Chamber of Commerce, being re-inaugurated completely renovated on August 29, 1997.
• Rivadavia Library
• It is located at 31 Colon Ave. The Association Bernardino Rivadavia and its library were founded in 1882. As the time goes by it was needed a place for this institution. For this reason, Leónidas Venus, president of the City Council, gave them the location at Brown 86. There it developed its activities from 1891 to 1930. Then the facilities moved to the current headquarters on Colon Ave.
  The architect who designed the current building was Ernesto Giraud and the builder was José Querel.
• Former Banco Hipotecario Nacional
• It is located on the corner of Colon Ave. and Vicente Lopez Street.
  The placement ceremony of the fundamental stone was done in 1919, but the works did not begin until 1923. The construction was directed, first by the engineer Carlos Ortuzar and later by the engineer architect Ochoa. It was concluded in 1926.
  Nowadays is the office of the Internal Revenue Service.
• Argentine Club
• It is located on the intersection of Colon Ave. and Vicente Lopez Street.
  The construction of the building is from 1910, when the Argentine Club construction society was conformed. Its goal was to raise the building for the headquarters of the club. The design was made by the architect Alberto Coni Molina and the construction by Nicolás and Gerardo Pagano.
  In the Club there were several meetings to which famous personalities attended, emphasizing the president of The United States Teodoro Roosevelt, Marcelo T. de Alvear, or the governor of the province of Buenos Aires, Valentín Vergara.
• School Nr. 2
• It is located at 51 Vieytes Street.
  The inauguration of the building was in 1928, reason why it was named Centenary, later changed for Valentín Vergara. The designer of the project was the architect Julio Gazzari and the builder Santiago Teddi.
  The building of the School N º 2 Governor Valentín Vergara, was declared Historical Provincial Monument, on September 6, 1999. The E.G.B. N º 2, the High School N º 6 and the Institutes of Physical Education and Julio Cesar Advances are currently work in this building.
• Post office and Telegraphs
• The building of the Mail and Telegraph is located on the corner of Vicente Lopez and Moreno Street. The design of the building was done by the architect Van Dorsen, its construction by Roberto Cartagna and the direction by the architect Luis de Ochagavía. The fundamental stone was placed in the year 1919, but the work is finished in 1926, much later than the original plan.
